Caulk a straight line

Have you ever procrastinated a job on your to do list because it just seems like it's going to be a mess?  Yes, me too.  I finished putting down the vinyl floor months ago but had not caulked around the edges.  Around the entire small bathroom renovation.  The good news is that someone told me an easy method to get a straight caulk line.

How I get ready for winter holiday guests

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #PreparedWithCVS #CollectiveBias
Last summer we moved to our fixer upper retirement place.  When the family and friends started coming in for the fall and winter holidays it was a bit of a mess but I still managed to make it special.  This season I’m getting organized and stocking up with essentials to make my home “guest ready”.  There are new bed linens, pillows, towels, seasonal remedies and everything is looking so cute I can barely wait for my first visitors to show up!

When to make a plumbing commitment

So, I found someone to install new faucets in the kitchen and bath. He noted that the plumbing under the bath sink is pretty deteriorated and to be prepared for a possible escalating of repair needed [and costs]. He said it was kind of like teens in love. Once things get started it's easy to get carried away. Consider if you want to commit to it. Hm. Then this morning it was clear we need to commit.

Shaving Brushes and Dark Cabinetry

Post contains links to Cottonelle & CVS

I love the way my bathroom make overs worked out.  The guest bath is all sleek with the espresso paint stain I used on the cabinetry, accent table and shelf.  The hardware on the cabinet, pendant lights and end table are now a matching brushed nickle.  My accidental collection of shaving brushes makes an unexpected debut on the shelf my brother built next to an antique desk fan and Texas wildflower photo.

Small bathroom make over

small bathroom redo with sky ceiling

I have a tiny master bathroom that was gloomy until I painted over the ochre color and changed the brown cabinetry to white.  The whole change was completed in a couple of days, and that was only because I needed dry time between coats of paint on the cabinets.

Small Bathroom Make Over

The master bedroom bathroom is a tiny space and was very dark.  The old ochre color paint and brown cabinetry made the space anything but pleasant.  The brighter Glidden "Antique Beige" (GLN09) walls with glossy white cabinetry & trim make a huge difference.  I left the "Rainy Day Blue" ceilings with clouds because I like them.   You can view the complete project at the One Year Project
If you want to try this, it was an easy project too. Paint the ceiling blue, then use wadded up plastic grocery bags to dab on white clouds.

Do you have a small bathroom make over to share?
