Cheese cake or coffee cake… hmm, that IS a question. Why not both? I quickly checked several recipes and decided on this one from Pinterest. It is a Pin Win. I like the way the three elements come together for a not too sweet but just right dessert. I did add just a little milk to the batter because it was too dry to get into the pan successfully. About 1/4 cup. If I’d had more sour cream I would have done that instead. My spring form pan is a little smaller that the one used in the original recipe making it rise a bit taller than needed. I used a black cherry jam that was scrumptious and instead of her crumb topping I sprinkled on some slivered almonds. Got my Starbucks coffee (using my Verismo brewer) and thinking… do I dare have a second slice? Yes. Head over to Bunny’s Warm Oven for her recipe.

Planning activities, snacks, field trips + grocery list with pre schooler
Spring break is always a much anticipated break even with the unusual number of snow days we experienced this year. A good plan with plenty of healthy meals, and nutritious snacks along with lots of creative activities is essential to keeping up with the 4 year old this year. I put together a five day plan to make organizing and inspiration easy for this special grandma time.

PIN Win DIY Solar Lamps
I saw these great DIY istructions on creative cain cabin: DIY Solar Lamp using mason jars and solar yard lights. Actually, I've seen them all over Pinterest, haven't you? Any way, I happen to have one of those solar yard lights lying on the kitchen counter next to the back door and numerous jars under the counter. After reading the article at Creative Cain Cabin and looking at the excellent DIY photos, I walked to the kitchen and assembled a mason jar lantern in seconds. SECONDS! I'm tempted to go out in the yard and pull up all the little yard lights and turn them into lanterns...
I waited till this morning and purchased more lights at the Dollar Store. Added wire hangers and put them up. Talk about a Pin Win, this one gets 5 stars for ease and craftiness.

Chocolate Pie Pin-Win
Chocolate Pie is a Pin-Win
I had a favorite uncle that LOVED chocolate pie. Any time you asked what he wanted or what you could bring him, he always replied "chocolate pie". So when I saw this pie recipe on Crafty in Crosby's blog, I literally jumped up and headed to the kitchen. The pie was easy to make and the taste is smooth as silk. It is pinned to my favorite sweet surrender Pinterest board and has won a permanent spot in my recipe collection. Uncle Ashley would have loved it.
I had everything I needed to bake it right away!
Head over to Crafty in Crosby for the full recipe and directions.
Thanks for visiting, I hope you have a chocolate pie kind of day!
