Oh, my, these were so good! They are a cinnamon and applesauce cake with apple pie filling topped with dipping caramel and a a cinnamon butter cream icing. The inspiration for this party treat came from a blogger I recently stumbled upon. The web site name says it all - Pamela's Heavenly Treats. Mine were made in a Wilton mini bundt pan. The pan makes 6 cakes at a time, so it took me a while to make 40 desserts!
Pamela's recipe, instructions and picture tutorial for the mini cakes are really easy to follow, please take the time to hop over there to see all them and all the other goodies she makes. I think I'll make a full size bundt cake like this for our Thanksgiving party. It will have finely chopped caramel chips and caramel sauce drizzled on top. Mmmm. I'm already looking forward to that.
