The First Phone Call From Heaven - book review

Contains Amazon link for which I may receive a small commission but all opinions are my own.
I purchased The First Phone Call From Heaven by Mitch Albom by accident.  I was looking for a book my online book club had decided to read but I could only remember the title contained the word Heaven in it.  There were several in the newly released popular books section so I picked this one up thinking it was what I was assigned to read.  Although it was not, I read it anyway and am glad I ended up with it.
The First Phone Call From Heaven by Mitch Albom meme, book review

Mitch Albom is the author of five number one New York Times bestsellers including this one.  He wrote Tuesdays with Morrie which I have also read and loved.

The story takes place in a fictitious town where people get calls from loved ones that have died.  It seems suspicious the calls are only coming to this town and they come on a regular basis.  The main character pursues the truth behind the calls and leads us on an interesting journey to what we expect is a hoax but also a couple of surprising twists.

I felt the faith based story was well planned out with just enough intrigue to keep me interested. It was a quick read with clean language suitable for any age and I enjoyed it.

I party at Bound by Books

There are several new entries to July’s Bound by Books link up that I know you’ll love.  My favorite from entry last week comes from Kid Lit Reviews with an inspiring book about changing an entire community with art.
