Microwave popcorn in a bag

Hubs eats a lot of popcorn.  It is one of those snacks that is easy on the waistline and diabetic friendly.  We used to buy those ready made popcorn in a bag products that you pop in the microwave until we made the price comparison on regular old popcorn Kernels.  The savings is significant when making your own.  Check out the super simple instructions and have a snack in 3 and 1/2 minutes!

  • ¼ cup popcorn kernels
  • Brown paper lunch bag
  • Optional: Melted butter, butter flavored spray, oil, and/or salt, parmessan cheese, taco seasoning mix, melted chocolate chips...it's endess!

  • Directions

    1. Pour the kernels into the brown paper bag.
    2. Tightly fold over the top three or four times.
    3. Put it in the microwave and start it on high for 3 1/2 minutes
    4. Listen...when the popping slows to a few pops in a few seconds, it's ready.
    5. Add toppings or not.
