Little Fish, Big Pond

2013-07-18 18.07.35

Great Grand, my daughter and I spent a fabulous day downtown Dallas at the Dallas World Aquarium.  We avoided stressful traffic and parking nightmares by riding the Dart Transit Train which was fun and entertaining in itself for a 3 year old.

If you’ve never toured an aquarium, I highly recommend it, and especially this one.

Looking Up...

What an awesome job.
These men were working high above the traffic.  The wire they are placing will take harnessed energy from wind turbines to businesses and homes all over Texas.
As I drove upon this amazing site my breath was taken by the spectacle.
I had to stop and watch for a few minutes
and take a few photo's to share the experience.

It's Okay
I'm tired from the long drive from mom's, it's okay, I saw some cool construction over the highway and I like yellow.
I think the above job looks awesome, though I'm a little afraid of heights and it's okay!
There's dust under hubs recliner, it's okay, I'll get Rosie Robot out for it later today.
There's dishes in the sink, it's okay, I have to empty the washer before I can put them in.
There's nothing out to cook for dinner, it's okay, I really have a craving for delivery pizza.
There's a load of laundry beside my suitcase.  That's okay, it will wait till morning.
I have only one post for this week, it's okay, a little break has given me some new ideas.
I've been unable to photograph those cute baby birdies being fed by the momma bird outside the den window, it's okay, I'm going to keep trying.
I badly need to color my roots and it's okay that I'm looking for a new brand.
BTW...can any of you recommend an "over the counter" brand that will not fade away so quickly?
I like to link up at some parties where I share my page and find lots of interesting ideas from other bloggers.  You don't have to be a blogger to peak at the creations, just come see.

Let’s Go Fly a Kite…

DSC_0765DSC_0771DSC_0772DSC_0778DSC_0776
It doesn’t take many words to explain this nice Spring Break Day with the Little Grands.  Even the horses were curious and entertained by the kite flying.

Copper Breaks State Park, Texas.

DSC_0731
The little grands spent a few days with me for Spring Break.  One of the days we drove to Copper Breaks State Park in Hardeman County, Texas.  The drought has reduced the lake size a great deal, but the park was still full of visitors and campers.  There is a rugged beauty in the landscape that will bring to life one of the Louis L’Amour books my dad used to read.  The terrain is deceptively rough with hills, rocks and cedars.  Just beyond the horizon and lake is the Pease River and site where Cynthia Ann Parker was taken as a child by the Comanche's.  Her story is amazing, as is her son Chief Quanah Parker.

The day turned out to be quite sunny and warm as we hiked up one of the developed trails to a resting spot with quite a view of the park.  The grands had to spend a little time at a playground before heading home.  I should have snapped a picture of the two exhausted little grands that fell fast asleep in the back of the car before we were barely out of the park!  It was a great day together.

Joy in this moment

This moment
catching snow flakes
feeling the cold on your tongue
the reward
for waiting

This moment

A simple bulb
and a promise of spring.
A flash of color
and a breath of new air.
A moment in time
caught on film.
To share and remember.

There areThings in Life

I like to share.
Things like abundance, happiness, beauty and such.
Things God made and shared with me.

There are things in life
I don't care to remember.
Things I can't bear to mention.
Things God knows but has put away, because I asked.

There are things in life
that are important, things that aren't.
I thank God for those things.
They shape life on earth and feed my desire for an eternal life in Heaven.
